I second that. One of our animators has been sneaking composite into our workflow because of the EXR issues.

Oooh I hope this means proper native EXR support!
I watched the AE anniversary video yesterday and was interested to hear Dan say that the addition of 16bit went a long way towards giving AE credibility. These days nothing makes the Nuke guys at work more dismissive of AE than the way it handles / doesn't handle EXRs. Proper native support for multi-channel EXRs and cropping will again go a long way towards giving AE "credibility".
