While Apple have indicated they're going to do something...I'm just not confident it will be all that compelling for a user like me, given what I know about chipset development combined with Apple's clear design and engineering trends.

...so this one appears driven by regulatory requirements the current model doesn't meet and not having anything new to ship at this time.
