Also, I know Todd loves to mention this, but actually Premiere Pro has the best scaling algorithms in the whole adobe suite. You may not even need the pixel blur if you rescale it in premiere. Just a thought.

Subject: [AE] SD pixel blur?

Hello all,

I remember some discussions of adding a 2 pixel vertical blur to reduce aliasing in SD video. Any recommended choice of blurs? Fast blur, Gaussian any other favorite filters?
I am using AE to scale 1 minute PSA spots from HD (1920x1080i ProRes QT) to letter box  NTSC (720x 486 QT ProRes).
AE CS6 delivers good quality results. There is occasional NTSC aliasing along diagonal lines in the video.  It was suggested to try adding a slight blur to improve the end results.
