I assumed as much because the effect is so old, but I think there was a 3rd party interlace flicker fixer that used a high-pass filter so that only the flickery bits were blurred- which is what I would hope for from a dedicated filter for interlace flicker. It would be nice if the AE reduce interlace flicker was a bit more intelligent and didn't simply blur everything, but it would be nicer still if I never had to work with fields ever again. |
