We render almost everything ProRes because visual effects are done in After E= ffects and then returned back to an editing timeline in the same codec for f= urther editing and realtime playback. ProRes 4444 carries an alpha channel in a 10 bit codec with an even higher d= ata rate than ProRes HQ. We use ProRes 4444 for finishing feature films wher= e the source originates as Redcam as it is the most lossless ProRes codec.
