Having a sufficiently deep bit bucket makes instant access to the metadata HIGHLY overrated, IMO. The only time I go back to the 5K is on a shot by shot basis if the offline editor has done something stupid, like a 250% blowup on the dailies, and even then I usually show him the invariably slightly-out-of-focus result.
