Todd, your post was very helpful in understanding the process. Jack, I've been following your posts about the GTX 285 and Davinci = Resolve for a while now, so your reply was especially helpful. I jumped = over to eBay and the card is now sitting on my desk. Thanks for that = link =96 much appreciated. I didn't realize that the free version of = Davinci Resolve was fully functional. As of yet, I haven't had reason to = go above HD so this is terrific. (Raising a bottle of Yerba Mate in = honor of Grant Petty.) A friend works at a post house with Resolve = systems and I'm hoping to get over there. Of course, I'll no doubt be = yearning for a surface, a Flanders Scientific monitor and all the rest = of the toys. I'll get there but it may take a while. This = might surprise you but I'd suggest an NVIDIA GTX 285 if you are going = for a Mac compatible card. It sounds like you want to move into the = Davinci world and if you do this is the best card on a Mac. They can be = a little hard to find but we managed to pick up a couple of the Mac = versions of these cards on ebay. I think we paid about $500 per = card.
