As you've mentioned, our = conversions are usually from 29.97 where there is extra temporal = information to work with and not 30p footage.=20 We do a fair amount of conversion of frame rates here, especially when = we conform documentaries, as they can often have 3 or 4 different frame = rates with stock shots and different cameras used to shoot footage. Would it be possible for you to post a shot on your ftp and I could try = a couple of experiments. Anything else I might suggest may not be = worthwhile without testing a theory first.
