Apple has made accessing the discussion forums rather unpleasant. I guess they are encouraging users to pay for tech support.

We've always been able to get good advice for older hardware in the
apple discussions forum.  I've been unsuccessfully  trying to access
the G5 forum.  It has become progressively less user friendly since
Steve went to heaven.
Are there any decent, functional on-line forums?
