There's a pretty good forum for EX series cameras over at DVInfo.net -


My only suggestion is to check and see if skin tone detail is on. I haven't used it in a while, but I'm pretty sure there's a mode where it will indicate in the viewfinder areas where the detail is being modified. (I've got an EX3, but it runs pretty much the same software as the EX1.)

It's there with a variety of subjects on camera- its not moire; and zebra, peaking are off- it's present in and out of focus.

This started when I updated the firmware to the current version. 

Anyone know if this is some obscure feature?
