I would steer clear of loft nurbs for this sort of 'pebble' shape if I were you. It's a good candidate for SubD modelling, I've created the start of it here for you:

I love Cinema but to be honest I do all my sds modelling in Modo. There's a really nice workflow now where you can model that basic shape and subdivide a lot so it's very smooth, then retopologise over it so that you can place all your poly edges exactly as you want them but stick to the overall smooth shape. Polygon loop flow is key for a shape like that, I often draw over the reference image to plan that out before I start, like this, much easier to plot out the quads here than move polys around in 3d:
