ah - when they say "anamorphic" is it common to be just "widescreen" (16:9) or is it true anamorphic (2:1)?  I assumed the more literal 2:1 anamorphic but if they're just referring loosely to that as the process of unsqueezing then I should redo this at 16:9

the more I think about it, it does seem silly to slap it into a 2:1 PAR when it's HD content, so yeah squeezing down the 16:9 and not 2:1 is sounding right.

sound correct?

On an international spot and it's been a while since I've done this, but they want the HD master to be delivered as Full Height animorphic PAL.  must be some sort of broadcast standard in one of the delivering countries.

Soooo, the AE template for that is 1050x576

But I'm assuming I take this and drop it into a regular pal comp and then squeeze the sides to fit the frame, keeping the "full height" and deliver it squeezed into this regular PAL format.

Is that correct or am I missing something?

Thanks

Use the "PAL D1/DV Widescreen" comp preset and drop you HD format into this and use "Fit to Comp Height" to make it fit, or just use "Fit to Comp" if you don't care for a bit stretched footage, i do this regularly just to avoid the small black pillarboxes in the sides
