Here's an update.

I never use cracked software.

I was connected to someone at Adobe who offered a few suggestions which helped but did not fix the problem. Mainly, manually downloading updates and installing them.

I went back in my Library/Application Support/Adobe folder and trashed everything that was older than a year and did not apply to an existing app that I need to keep working (AE & Photoshop CS5.5). I also trashed the preferences I could find.

I also uninstalled every old Adobe app that I don't use. Again, everything except AE & Photoshop CS5.5. FYI, the Uninstaller didn't actually uninstall all the apps. I had to manually trash most of them.

Then when I opened the Adobe Application Manager it magically changed from showing apps that needed updates to all the apps needing to be installed.

Then I was able to install everything, although I had to manually update all CS6 programs.

That took all day yesterday and all night.

So now, I have all of the apps I need except Illustrator which installed, but errors out in the Adobe Application Manager. And the Adobe Media Encoder which installed with Premiere Pro but crashes without actually running every time I try to run it.

Immediately, it said that I needed to update most of the apps. Great. I tried to update photoshop and got the same error I had been getting before.

So here I am. Working, but the problem still isn't actually fixed.

Don't take it personally, but I  think a good thing to ask is...
Has there ever been a cracked version of any adobe software on  the drive in question?
I struggled with a friend's computer until he told me he had tried a cracked version of cs6 and failed.  Sure enough, his hosts file was blocking a ton of adobe adresses.
Check your hosts file, in case it is blocking any adobe addresses.
I am not accusing, just offering up a possible option to explore.
if not, use the Brute Force Method. erase everything and re-install
good luck.

It would help if you provided some "real" info liek the exact error codes of the updater and some system info. We also have this wonderful place to ask questions and it's regularly moinitored by qualified Adobe employees...:
