There's a Furnace plugin called SmartPlate that does this, but it doesn't run in AE - only on Nuke, Flame and Fusion. That's probably not the answer you're looking for, though.

create an X-spline roughly around any object that is panning through the scene and before it exists frame stop the track and use the X-spline + tool to add to the track on another object that has entered. Restart tracking... I usually back up a frame to be sure of a good continuing track and keep doing this for the duration of your pan and you'll get a perfect track in Mocha.
I only have the version of Mocha that comes bundled with AE CS6.
I have a long tripod panning shot. Basically, I'd like to create one long image that is basically a huge panoramic of the entire scene that is panned across. Isn't there a way for Mocha to do something like this? I seem to remember a tutorial where the camera pans up or down a blue sign with Asian characters on it, and you can tell mocha to kind of lock the mask to screen space, even though it is tracking what's passing through the mask.
Is there an easier way to do this that to just grab every few frames and paste them all together on photoshop?
