The fourth question on Todd's link answers that.

"Do I need ongoing Internet access to use my Creative Suite applications?

Because your Creative Suite applications are installed directly on your computer, you will not need an ongoing Internet connection to use them on a daily basis. However, you will need to be online when you install and license your software, and at least once every 30 days thereafter. The software will alert you when you need to connect to the Internet for a license status check."

If Adobe had required a 24hr internet connection to run the app, that not only would not only be foolish, but would probably remove many Adobe apps from the industry over night, as many offices are required to have zero web access areas for sensitive work. Many studios need this protection to prevent hackers/loose lips from leaking high profile projects easily. Not that it still can't be done, but it's a security requirement. We've had a number of projects that has required a no internet access setup. If Adobe ever switched over to a 24hr internet access setup, then our office would be forced to leave Adobe all together. I don't think either side wants that.

It just confused the hell out of me. :)

At first it says "We do not, however, have any current plans to release new
versions of our CS applications."

followed by "You will continue to install and use the creative applications
on your desktop just as you always have, but the apps will increasingly be
part of a larger creative process centered on Creative Cloud."

I need a demo on how the cloud actually works and does it require a high
end internet connection always on, etc.

And is this pending new release not going to be released as an application
(CS7?)?

Eric
