| To address your (somewhat joking, I presume) scenario seriously, Jim: If the application checks to see if its activation is current and fails to connect with the server, you go into a "grace period" mode, during which the software still runs, but it tells you how many days you have to connect to the Internet to activate. The grace period for folks on an annual subscription is 99 days. So, you'll have more than three months in the worst-case scenario to finish your work---and if the mini-apocalypse hasn't been resolved by then, you may have bigger concerns.
