the AE plugins are actually convienently installed inside the maxon folder as well - kept inside a folder named Exchange Plugins

these are there for you to have a copy of them (i.e. these are not actually installed just copies) 

so make sure you have installed the latest and greatest version from your latest version of C4D which may fix your issue
