I've never been a fan of subscription services, and Adobe's creative cloud subscription service is no exception. It certainly seems to fit a majority of users, and thus will probably be successful from Adobe's point of view. But that doesn't mean it's good for quite a number of their users.

I have problems with having to pay for ALL of their software, just to use a few apps that I use. Yes, I can rent their apps individually, but that doesn't give me what I had when buying, which is a package of software apps designed for video production for a specific price (production bundle).  Now it cost more to rent the production bundle apps than to just rent the whole kit and caboodle.

I have problems with a rental service, rather than pay once and own it. I like owning my stuff. Others like renting. Why can't Adobe have both?

I have problems putting all my marbles in a service that could go up in price (note to all, it will go UP in price, guaranteed). When one buys software, your cost with said software is contained to one purchase. Not with renting, though.

I have been off the upgrade train for quite a few years now. Not that we don't upgrade, but we do so every couple of a versions or so, and that's been working well for us. In our market, no clients, not one, ask which version of software we are using. Heck, no one ever asks what software we are using. They just want results. And we can get them without upgrading every year. Your mileage may vary...

Overall, it adds to the cost of our doing business, and that means money out of my pocket, without anything in return.

How can I support that?
