The "activate periodically" is about as intrusive as your OS checking to see if there are any updates.. honesty.. on my PC i don't even see a=20 dialogue asking me to check for activation... it just does it..

also.. Todd and others on the AE team have said, point blank, that older versions of any software released on CC will always be available..

For instance.. say I'm working on a huge project that will be done in 3=20 months, and the new version of AE CC comes out..   I can opt not = to=20 download it or install it.. or I can download and install it along side=20 the current version I'm using, and have both versions functional.. so I=20 can start playing with the new features without worrying whether or not=20 my old projects will still work the same way in the new AE version..

5 years down the road, that older version would still be available, (for some reason) , and still accessible to download and run via CC..
