That makes sense, how much SSD disk cache is recommended for AE? I use my
only SSD for Windows as it’s only 60 GB and I thought that wasn’t enough for
disk cache?
(one problem is that I’ve only got 4GB free on the SSD) It would be great to know the importance of RAM vs SSD cache vs CPU speed
and cores, is there a performance calculator for that
online?

agree with Mylenium that more RAM and a bigger SSD would be a good idea. Both
will help with overall speed, especially if you use the SSD for the After
Effects disk cache.
