Get as much RAM as possible for the amount of money you want to spend, it should be fairly cheap to put in 48GB, and a SSD to the disk cache. You will not want to turn back to the old setup when you start working with AE with huge amounts of RAM and a fast SSD :-) ...only thing is that cleaning the SSD disk cache is a all or nothing, you will have to loose 500GB perfectly fine disk cache because of 1 frame that AE cached wrong :-( - Robert 2013/5/15 Lloyd Alvarez > RAM and SSD make a really big difference especially if you do multi-proc > rendering. > > > On Wed, May 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM, Todd Kopriva wro= te: > >> I agree with Mylenium that more RAM and a bigger SSD would be a good >> idea. RAM and SSD make a really big difference especially if you= do multi-proc rendering.

I agree with Mylenium that more RAM and a bi= gger SSD would be a good idea. Both will help with overall speed, especiall= y if you use the SSD for the After Effects disk cache.
