However with the global cache, if that ram is very fast and you have a good ssd, it will pull frames off the ssd that have been already rendered. Cpu is very important, it is the base that will speed everything up. Then comes ssd, then, in my opinion, ram for faster previews. Ram also affects overall render speed. Gpu is nice to speed up some effects and to encode video using cuda, but not a central or major part of ae workflow, as long as it does the job and youre not relying on raytracing On Wednesday, May 15, 2013, Anders Sundstedt wrote: > Is there any graphic card upgrades at all that will boost RAM preview > for Classic 3D comps? > > Anders > > *From:* Lloyd Alvarez > *Sent:* Wednesday, May 15, 2013 4:03 PM > *To:* After Effects Mail List 'AE-List@media-motion.tv');> > *Subject:* Re: [AE] The currently fastest PC config possible for After > Effects work for a budget of $1500? > > RAM and SSD make a really big difference especially if you do multi-proc > rendering. > > > On Wed, May 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM, Todd Kopriva > > wrote: > >> I agree with Mylenium that more RAM and a bigger SSD would be a good >> idea. RAM and SSD make a really big difference especially if you= do=20 multi-proc rendering.
