That being said, Ive seen or been involved in several projects like this, especially when I was starting out. Sadly most of them failed. I would highly recommend starting with a short film of 10 - 15 minutes first, as a proof of concept. If you can pull that together not only will you learn a lot about your ideal workflow, but you can use it to sell your idea for more funding. Think kickstarter. Jumping right into a feature film you can get lost and lose focus on the scope of the project. A feature length animation is an incredible undertaking even for a fully equipped team of fifty people, let alone one person, no matter how intense their motivation and focus. Ambition is great, but stay realistic about your goals. Hi ev= eryone,

sorry for the bit of self promo but hopefully, there also some in= teresting stuff in this mail.

For the promo part: I've jus= t released a new script that let's you import a screenplay right inside= After Effects. This is a script I'm developing for my own movie projec= t (a bit more about that in a sec) but willing to push it forward beyond my= own scope. You can check it out here: http://aescripts.com/story-boarding

Now about that movie project. After following Stephen van Vuuren = Imax in a basement film project, I've decided to make my very own featu= re film length animation movie, not I'm my basement, but in my living r= oom. I've been saving some money for it and I'm deep through prepro= duction, finalizing the fourth draft of the screenplay, getting the first d= esigns and building custom tools for AE as it will be solely done in AE, PS= and other Adobe CC apps.

I was wondering the best route to go to get some additional = funding, and I've found that for now, I could do it that way: release o= n aescripts all the new tools I'm developing, and re-invest all the mon= ey I make from it right into the project, to help pay for licences, plugs, = gear and more importantly, to be able to pay my friend and lead designer fo= r a few month in full time.

So any dime you spend on my scripts (http://aescri= pts.com/authors/s-z-0-9/sebastien-perier/) will go toward what I call m= y life project, and I hope to have it done and release it in about 4 years.= Yep, will be a long run.

Script Boarding is the first tool specificaly designed for t= his project that I release, and worry not, I won't bother you here with= every script I'll release, that was a one time shame attempt for spotl= ight.

Hope you'll like it, and hope to show you the progress a= s my journey in the wonderfull wolrd of self funded and self produced goes = on.

Cheers,

Seb
