I've already submitted it as a bug report to Adobe, but I'm beginning to think it's an issue with my system only. Basically here's the issue.. New project, nothing in it.. File/Import File... Choose an AEP and hit open.. I get the error "After Effects error: Failed to connect to Adobe Premiere Pro Dynamic Link. ( 86 :: 1 )" Seems when I choose an AEP in the file browser, it doesn't set the file type properly or something. What I end up having to do to even get an AEP to import, is: 1) change the "Files of type" to "All Files (*.*)" 2) Choose the AEP 3) Change the Format: drop down box from "Adobe Dynamic Link" to "After Effects Project" Then I can click open and it'll import happily. Oddly enough, if I click "Files of type" and change it to "After Effects Project (*.aep, *.aepx)" and try to select and open an AEP it throws the same error and won't work.. I figure no one else has this issue, because people would complain or have questions about it all the time. Anyone know what's going on here and what I can try to do to fix it? I've already uninstalled and re-installed AE, but nothing changed.. I also tried to check my Windows 7 file type associations, but AEP is definitely associated as an After Effects CS6 Project file. Thanks in advance, hopefully I can get this resolved.. it's just so unintuitive, I figure I'm the only person with this issue. -- ///Greg Balint //Art Director / Motion Graphics Designer delRAZOR.com/ --------------020905010101050708070200 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hey all,

I've been having this issue for a long while, and figured it was just something wrong with my system, but I'm not positive, and I wanted to see what others deal with.

Seems when I choose an AEP in the file browser, it doesn't set the file type properly or something.

What I end up having to do to even get an AEP to import, is:

1) change the "Files of type" to "All Files (*.*)"
2) Choose the AEP
3) Change the Format:  drop down box from "Adobe Dynamic Link" to "After Effects Project"

Then I can click open and it'll import happily.
