Sometimes I want to mask or roto an image and then apply an effect AFTER the mask is applied. Or sometimes I want: 1.) effect 2.) mask 3.) effect. However AE doesn't give any control for the render order for masking. Is there a reason for this, or has there simply been no demand for this type of thing?
