Following up - I have uninstalled every Adobe app that I don't use. That leaves the Production Premium apps.

Then I uninstalled and re-installed AE. Now everything appears to be working.

Thanks.

Flash definitely plays a part as script UI are now based in flash. Hence the white panels that appear on AE startup for any docked scripts.

The Application Mangler says that there are no updates available. I can't manually install an update because there isn't one to install.

I have restarted the system several times.

I am currently trying to reinstall AIR, FLASH and any other ancillary program that might influence After Effects ability to run.

Thanks.

Perhaps something on the backed got updated and is causing the error. I'd check to see if AE has a point update. Sometimes random errors popup without warning when the app goes through a taxing project or the OS gets wonky.

Also try rebooting your system to clear it's head. I find I have to do that with my system when offbeat errors occur. Typical "have you tried turning off then on again" tech support answer, but it does help sometimes. :)

It happens on app launch and completely disables scripting.

And it appeared out of the blue. I haven't made any changes to AE prior to it happening.

I have a feeling that it may have something to do with AIR or some other app.

Thanks.

Never came across that one before. When does it show up? During the app launch? After launching a script?

Does any one know what to look for to fix this error?

After Effects warning: An unknown Adobe Player Engine error has occurred. Scripting will be disabled.

FYI - I copied this from Mylenium's site. And there doesn't seem to be a fix that I could find on Adobe's site.

Thanks.
