I saw that. Interesting timing with the rumors of a inaccessible internals Mac Pro heavily thunderbolt based to be announced at WWDC next week. Maybe Apple has advance access to first batch of Thunderbolt 2 for a few months? Although some reports seem to think Thunderbolt 2 is mostly about adding bandwidth for 4K support. Maybe 4K Retina Mac Pro is what is coming, although that would be pretty damn pricey if true. Personally, Thunderbolt = unnecessary price surcharges for storage. For drives I carry around, USB 3 is dirt cheap, backwards compatible and plenty fast for single drive. For RAID, internal big old fat cases with SATA 6/Gbs is plenty fast and again, really cheap and easy to setup/troubleshoot. Unless Thunderbolt pricing for controllers, cables and enclosures drops dramatically, I don’t see myself adopting it. stephen van vuuren 336.202.4777 http://www.insaturnsrings.com/ A film is – or should be – more like music than like fiction.
