What's the concern with a cable nightmare?
One thunderbolt cable connects drives together, and even the monitors if I'm not mistaken.
Daisy chain things together and tuck the one or two cables out of the way off your desktop.

I'll readily admit that I don't fly at the technical altitude of many (most) on this list.
But as someone who won't be switching to PC or building my own Hackintosh any time soon,
this new machine has promise.
