I'm not forgetting that at all, I'm actually for the Xeon Mac Pro. I wish you could add a second Xeon CPU, prices be dammed. (PC Xeon machines are similarly as expensive).
iMacs (or a hackintosh) make great AE, Premiere, Smoke, etc workstations for users wanting a fast i7 machine; I want the Mac Pro to be a more expensive, higher-end machine.
I'm just saying it's not going to be a cheap machine… since some seem to want to compare prices to an i7 based PC. This is designed and engineered to be a higher cost machine. I'm glad it is.
For me, I've used PC's, Mac's, some Linux, and I'm more productive and a lot less frustrated using the Mac; my worst ever computing experience was trying to use Macs for workstations and Windows PC's for a render-farm in an attempt to have faster machines and save money; the cross platform issues are a pita, not to mention you have to know how to troubleshoot and maintain both platforms… There is a high cost to that… It's a lot easier for me to build and support hackintoshes than add Windows machines...
