Wow - we have always paid well over $5k for our Mac Pros - usually closer to $6k, so only the middle range duals. A few are decked out, high end which were closer to $10k. We can get a lot more workstation for the same money. The new Mac Pro may not be enough oomf for our growing needs for performance. I'll hold final judgement until I see them in the field. Are they going blow out the last stock for new, er, legacy systems? We could use more of those.
Ciao ya'll

This is before Apple takes it's cut, so I honestly think people should be expecting $4299 - 4899 for the *basic* model. This is before you trick it out with any extras, larger drives, thunderbolt drives, external graphics or pci-e expansions
