An educated guess is that a substantial amount of the work done these days by editors and motion graphics designers on Macs are being done with laptops and iMacs.

There just isn't the market there use to be for faster, more expandable computers when you have the most basic Macs running circles around computers from just a few years ago. Thunderbolt connectivity in all the mac lineup is huge, and thunderbolt is getting more than three times faster in the next 6 months or so. That technology will get into iMacs and MacBook Pros soon, I'm sure.

The Mac Pro is a niche computer these days, and it's only going to get worse, I afraid.
