Yeah, i've seen some decent speed when comp viewer is at quarter resolution and Cineware is on software mode.  It's basically taking screengrabs from the c4d viewport and feeding them to AE via TCP connection. so it's probably never going to be a realtime thing unless they rebuild the software render portion of Cineware down the road.

I might try the new AE integration on a smaller project and see how I like it using object buffers. I wish it were possible to have some kind of hardware acceleration in AE for the Cineware effect. Seems a tad slow.
