| I guess I could add that if anybody is feeling lucky, I'll sell them mine for a good price.

I put one of those OWC disk expander gadgets in my MacPro3,1… one that allowed an extra HD in the spare optical drive bay, and I had major problems with my first drive slot in the stock drive array either not mounting or locking up the entire computer or causing it not to boot at all.
I tried the expander on two different MacPros and I had the same issue with both of them. I yanked the fifth drive and my problems disappeared.
YMMV, but I'd suggest staying away from those things.

It's what I've done here.

AE and iMac
I’d love to try to hold out and wait for the new Mac Pro, but I think I need to get a machine that can run the latest OS and latest software.
I’ve been stuck since many of the tools I use will die if If I upgrade.
How many of you are running AE on a “loaded” iMac? Does it work well?
I know I’ve walked into production companies for meetings and ALL I see are iMac’s editing video.
This may be an practical stop-gap solution. Let me know if you use an iMac for AE and it works well.
Thanks.
