Depends on the kind of damage and how good your drives are... Generally you mostly need a disc burning tool that is able to read data in raw mode and allows you control over the number of retries or possibly even CRC modes. Fireburner did offer such options back then, but you should be avble to get some decent results with Nero, ISObuster and similar tools as well... And definitely try to recover the data on as many systems as you have access to. sometimes discs don't work in one system but are perfectly fine on another for reasons unbeknownst to humankind...
