Ok, so it seems like Horizon and CC Environment use equirectangular mapping to undistorted the image.
CC Sphere uses a different method.
Cycore has a set of tools called Sphere Tools but that didn't work either.
The cubic map idea partially work but not ideal.
Any other thoughts on equirectangular mapping?
Thanks.

I'll try making the radius large inn CC Sphere but when I tried that previously it still had distortion.
Cheers. Phil

Hey Phil, send me your full size environment map, the top one in your example. I will convert it to 6 square faces for the cube method i mentioned, it won't have that cc sphere problem, and will be camera xyz-position friendly. In the meantime, try making your cc sphere radius super mega large. and that should take care of the major distortions. -patrick On Jul 16, 2013, at 8:23 PM, Phil Spitler wrote: Ok, here is what I am finding with my experimentation.
You can see from this image that the CC Sphere has way more distortion than Horizon.
I am not bothered about having it comp camera aware, the controls in CC Sphere are more than adequate, I just need the wrapping style to be the same as Horizon (CC Environment is the same as Horizon BTW).
Any thoughts?
Cheers.

There's some expressions I think Dan ebberts wrote years ago that lets it work with the ae camera somewhat We can't upgrade to CC yet as we need to upgrade our SAN to work with 10.8 (which is happening next week I think).
No Cineware for just yet.
I could do all the processing in C4D but thought AE would be more flexible,
Thanks.
