QT as a file format is pretty well documented. you don't need apple to =
read or write it. if apple borks up one of their codecs, it doesn't =
change your custom installed codec because you can completely bypass =
apple's libs.

I think my only gripe about openEXR is that its an img sequence in a =
folder rather than a single file. I think too easy to loose bits. MXF =
single file is more appealing to me, especially since NLE's seem to be =
able to handle all the various flavors that are out there.
