I think I can tell you right now that I refuse to use QuickTime, = possibly for purely emotional reasons. After doing some more research I think maybe using MXF as the container = is the way to go. Ogg and Matroska (and QuickTime) seem more designed = for playback while MXF was designed for production. The only downside = in my mind is that it's a SMPTE standard as opposed to Matroska which is = an open standard. Maybe some people would actually prefer that. But as I said, I would re-brand it, making a new name and a new = extension for what is an MXF container limited to a list of free codecs. = Anyone got ideas for a name?
