Thanks for the suggestions, both of those were definitely out of my price range. Newegg is having a one day special on 64mb cache 7200 seagate NAS drives, and a special on this synology 4-bay NAS RAID, so I pulled the trigger on that. Along with my 5 port 100/1000 ethernet switch, this is going to make network rendering 10x faster and easier.
