I mentioned this in bug report the TIFF sequence import bug is bringing in roughly 10% of the sequence length - verified with several different sequences. That's clearly a math error of some kind e.g. just brought 1440 frames image sequence, CC brings in 144 files like it lost the decimal point. I brought in 1017 frame image sequence, CC says it 101 frames.
