Yup - Unlike EXR which contain "data tag" to store information like that, unfortunately DPX (while it would certainly have the space) to host CDL it's just text as opposed to a richer.

DPXs can hold a lot of different pieces of information in the header, but not AFAIK some new generic metadata like a CDL.  It has to be in the DPX spec.

If you open a DPX in Photoshop with my DPX Plus plug-in, File Info will have a breakdown of all the header contents.  There are other tools floating around that can do similar.
