Input Device: camrolls_mxf - After supporting many conform sessions and the many different boxes, this is a bad practice. This should be the source name of the element. In Avid/EDL world, it would be the TAPE name or the VFX shot name.
Yup - Unlike EXR which contain "data tag" to store information like that, unfortunately DPX (while it would certainly have the space) to host CDL it's just text as opposed to a richer.
Not 100% sure what I'm reading here, but it seems to be as you said. No CDL type of data it seems, which good for us in our fight to say we still don't have the CDL data. :)
This is the data it had in the "Description" box:

Is it possible to carry CDL metadata from Sony F65 footage through to DPX image sequence output? This is related to my other thread, but I wanted to separate the conversations.
DPXs can hold a lot of different pieces of information in the header, but not AFAIK some new generic metadata like a CDL. It has to be in the DPX spec.
If you open a DPX in Photoshop with my DPX Plus plug-in, File Info will have a breakdown of all the header contents. There are other tools floating around that can do similar.
