In broad terms, the GPU functionality is better in 10.8, especially OpenCL. This affects Premiere Pro more than After Effects. We worked rather actively with Apple in this area for 10.8 updates... more than we were able to do during the 10.7 timeframe. 10.8 also gives some extra features regarding native ProRes import and export in the CC versions of our applications. They're working fine for me under 10.7.5 (I think), but I'm always interested in more & better performance, if it's an option.
