Thank you all for the prompt responses.
I usually use Premiere Pro for the files to take into Encore but this time decided to go directly from AE. I did not realize there was a seperate audio file and yes it did create several files- the video, an XMPSES, wave and Adobe prelude XMP.  Is the Wave and video files the only ones needed or do all files have to be imported?
Have not used the Media encoder as a separate entity only as a plug-in for PPro
I may have become confused about the best way to encode for best results for Encore. Was creating avi files to take into Encore then I read it was best to encode them using my Cuda graphics card. That is why I chose the Mpeg2-DAD option. Would like to know best path to take.
Thanks again.

Jeanette

It does not directly answer your question, but in general you are better off rendering to a master file (with very little compression) from AE and then render to your desire file format using another program like Adobe Media Encoder, or Compressor if you are on a Mac.
As far as not having any audio what is the audio source format?

Made a successful render without the audio but cannot get it to render with the audio even though it says to include it in render engine. I want to take this into Encore and have read one gets better results not letting Encore do the encoding.
I am running AE6(64 bit)

Here is the settings

Format MPEG-DVD
Render settings    current settings

Output module Main Concept MPEG Video
              Spatial quality=4
              Bitrate 5.00Mbps
Include-
    Output audio 48,000kHz/16bit/Stereo

Why does it not include the audio??

Input appreciated
