I know there's a conversion in Audition. I convert wave files to MP3 all the time. You can do a "Save As" and change the file type. I think there's also an export option too, but I'm not in front of my computer right now to check.

For authoring your video to a DVD you need two files:  your video encoded to MPEG-2 format (a m2v extension) and an audio file (AC3 is the recommended format over PCM (AIFF or WAV).
