You might want to try digging through the registry for any Trapcode/Red Giant entries before reinstalling and delete everything you find. That solved the same problem I had when moving BCC8 AE around on workstations.

Some software authorizations are stored in an invisible file with an inscrutable name.

Some software with a trial mode installs a file as well, and if you can find the secret file, deleting it can reset the trial mode.

This is why a clean install resets your authorizations.

For good reasons, the companies that make the software don't want these file names or locations known.

But, it's very aggravating when you've paid the license and you can't use your software.

Some authorizations for Ae plug-ins are stored in the plug-ins preferences.  Deleting the prefs can force the plug-in to ask you to authorize them.

That may put you back in business.
