Having the disk cache on a fast SSD really = helps there. Of course, this is only true on After Effects CS6 and later. Also, if on Af= ter Effects CS6, make sure that you've installed the updates. There are a l= ot of cache fixes in them. The Trapcode plug-ins also have had some cache-r= elated fixes, so be sure that you're up to date on them, too.
