Contour Shuttle is nice and simple. I did finally cave and get the Euphonix MC Transport - which I believe is now avid. It never said it could work with Premiere or AE but it works great and the feel is very different from the Contour - it's a nice heavy, smooth rolling feel. But I'd say go for contour first and see if you like using it. Supah cheap so you can't go wrong. In ae I'd say it's more limited since scrubbing isn't really scrubbing without rendering - But for editing those things are very nice indeed. -------------------------------- Jayse Hansen UI GeekOut! www.jayse.tv jayse@jayse.tv 702-321-3449 On Wed, Aug 21, 2013 at 4:17 PM, Steve Oakley wrote= : > I think the countour is junk. its plasticy, blah... one place I use it is > in resolve on some of the slider values, I use it to up/down on the scrol= l > wheel. they have an aluminum scroller that might be more useful than the > chicklet keys supplied with the pop off button tops. > > there is a nice $300 controller from avid that looks like a real edit > controller. > > S > > On Aug 21, 2013, at 5:55 PM, Teddy Gage wrote: > > Sold. Hey all I've got a big premiere project and ever since t= hey removed the software shuttle buttons in ppro I've found the J-K-L s= hortcuts aren't as fast as they are in FCP. With so much footage to go = through, I'm considering a hardware jog / shuttle. couple of questions:=

- Are there any= peripherals that also work with AE? or are specifically for AE? My guess i= s no. The one I'm looking at has multiple software macro buttons, that = may be able to be mapped to AE shortcuts, which would make it worth it. I k= now my cintiq macro buttons work great in AE for roto, so I don't see w= hy it wouldn't work.

- Do any of you actually use a hardware shuttl= e? Is it worth it? My concern is cluttering up my desk for something I'= ll only use sparingly

=A0

I'm looking at t= his one, which for $100 isn't gonna break the bank anyway.
