I am going to be teaching career and technical education classes = in Graphic Design and Video Production at our local high school and they ca= nnot afford Adobe CC educational pricing in any of its forms. So we will be= teaching FCPX/Motion instead of Premiere/After Effects. I suppose whats worse is that the students ma= y well have adobe CC on their own laptops. I've seen that a lot. you know t= hose kids are paying perfectly good money to learn whats current and releva= nt and not be using apps that are 6 or 7 years old. why not simply require = the students to have their own machine with CC ? its quite common these day= s, not different than buying books for a class. I'm with James, as a university faculty teaching arts education (most defin= itely not a growth area if you know anything about Australian politics), be= ing core business for us obviously we have a higher budget than schools, bu= t we will have to stay with CS6 suite for as long as adobe supports it, the= n look at other options. This will be the first software we have NOT kept current, and update our 10= mac labs at the end of every 14 week semester, and hardware every 3 years. Unless bulk educational CC subscriptions become more affordable for a singl= e faculty, (initial quote was $300 thousand for a site license that only 2 = x faculties use, needless to say the answer to that was NO), we'll have to = use alternatives. ta UTS CRICOS Provider Code: 00099F DISCLAIMER: This email message and any accompanying attachments may contain= confidential information.
