I'm using Particle System II because it has some features that are necessary for the effect I'm after -- an ultra slow, gooey effect.  Works great, expect I want it even slower and can't get there using the available particle settings (I've tried them ALL).  I'll look into Particular if I can't find another way to slow this clip down, and there must be a way to do this.  I could export individual frames into Premiere and slow it down there, but I would much rather keep this in AE as I'll be doing quite a bit of these effects. Surely, I'm missing something obvious.

Pete

Which particle effect are you using? If it is Particular, would the "Physics>Physics Time Factor" parameter work for slowing down the effect. You pre-comp the effect, them Time Remap the layer slower.

Subject: [AE] Slow Motion

I'm trying to slow down a clip without repeating frames. I tried rendering out a composition that is 10 seconds long and 90 fps and then reimported it in order to output it as a clip that is 30 seconds long and 30 fps. This isn't working and I was wondering if there is a better approach. I tried exporting as single frames as well, but AE chokes when I import those back into the project. I don't want to do this with Time Stretch as this involves repeating frames and frame blending, etc., which I want to avoid.

Basically what I'm trying to slow down is a particle emitter, the settings of which don't allow an extremely slow effect on their own.

Thanks,

Pete
