Hey all,

Just a short note to let you know that we've just released Twixtor 6 for AE/PP (and FCP).  What's new is GPU support (all the other features are the same).  Our calculation times are up to 5x faster on higher end cards when than compared to calculating on the CPU cores.  In AE you might actually see that full speedup, and In Premiere Pro and FCP we see speedups up more akin to 2.5x with the higher end cards… Still not too shabby! We suspect this is because AE is better at caching the source frames we need, because the internal calculation times are the same.

Of course, your mileage may vary… depending on the GPU(s) you have, the CPU you have, disk speed, codecs of clips, PCIe bus bandwidth, etc.  On laptops we are seeing much less speedup, as you can imagine would be the case.

To use GPU acceleration, you'll need Mac OS 10.7 or later and Win 7 or 8 (and on Win you'll  want the latest drivers).  There are other requirements, so read more about what's needed here:  http://revisionfx.com/support/faqs/generalfaqs/gpu-info/

Upgrading from Twixtor v4 or v5 entails a paid upgrade.  Pricing and other info can be found here: http://revisionfx.com/company/press_releases/20130904/

As always, please try the demo if you are uncertain whether the upgrade may meet your needs: http://revisionfx.com/products/twixtor/downloads/#ae_compatible_4

Let us know if you have any questions!
